The majority of Shoreline teachers have voted to go on strike Sept. 5th if the Shoreline School Board refuses to negotiate a tentative contract agreement by 6 a.m. Sept. 4.
• Voting to strike is a serious decision, but one we believe is necessary for the future of Shoreline schools. Like you, we want school to start on Sept. 5. Yet, after years of fiscal mismanagement and poor budget decisions, the Shoreline School Board now insists on cutting more than $500,000 in important student services and programs. That is unacceptable.
• Members of the Shoreline Education Association and the Shoreline Education Support Professionals Association have decided to take a stand for our students and our schools. We need your support. Please contact your elected Shoreline School Board and Supt. Sue Walker and urge them to settle educators’ contracts by Sept. 4 so school can start school Sept. 5.
